The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), a Deemed to be University and an autonomous body under Department of Space (DOS), was formed in 2007.

IIST announces admission to the undergraduate and dual-degree programmes for the academic year 2016-17, to eligible Indian citizens.

IIST announces admission to the following courses:

  • 4-Year B.Tech Programme Aerospace Engineering (60 Seats)
  • 4-Year B.Tech Programme Avionics (60 Seats)
  • 5-Year Dual Degree (B.Tech. M.S./M.Tech.) Programme (20 Seats)


  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for admission in IIST.
  • Candidates seeking admission to IIST should have passed their Qualifying Examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of the curriculum.
  • Candidates should appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)-2016 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and secure the minimum prescribed category-wise marks in JEE (Advanced)-2016.


  • Candidates who are desirous to join the undergraduate programmes in IIST must apply separately for admission to IIST by registering at the online application portal .
  • IIST Admission Rank list will be generated only for those candidates who have registered online for the admission to IIST and satisfying all the eligibility criteria prescribed in Section 5 of this Information Brochure.


  • Candidates should register their application only through online portal ,download and print the Challan to remit the registration fee as given in the table below:
  • GEN and OBC: Rs. 600/-
  • Female candidates in GEN and OBC: Rs. 300/-
  • All SC, ST, PD candidates: Rs.300/-

  • Last date for remitting Registration fee in Bank: 27 June 2016
